Referring to them as "My New India Youth", the PM asked them to come forward and deliberate on how this New India - free from the poison of casteism, communalism, terrorism and corruption; free from filth and poverty - would be formed. Indian democracy welcomes our 21st century "New India Voters'". "Where the youth between 18-25 could sit together and brainstorm about a new India, find ways and chalk (out) our plans.", he said. "It can transform our nation". He called upon the youth of J&K to start preparing for this and ensure that J&K team puts up a great show during this mock parliament. "New India will be a place where peace, unity and amity will be our guiding force", Modi said, according to a translation of his speech put out by the Press Information Bureau. He also expressed his wish that a mock parliament be organised in New Delhi around 15 August to discuss how the dream of a "new India" can be fulfilled by 2022.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday showered praises on Jammu and Kashmir's Anjum Bashir Khan for cracking the Kashmir Civil Service exam this year.

"Serving people is the biggest identity of humankind".

The PM said that "Swachh Survekshan 2018" will be carried out from January 4 to March 10 next year to evaluate the cleanliness of India's urban areas.

"Recently, I came to know of the inspiring story of Anjum Bashir Khan Khattak. It should be our constant endeavor that our women also get equal rights and equal opportunities just like men get so that they can proceed simultaneously on the path of progress", the Prime Minister added.

Modi added that the minority affairs ministry has removed this restriction and will now allow Muslim women to travel to Haj without a male attendant.

More than 20 Muslim countries, including Pakistan and Bangladesh, have banned the practice.

Further, Modi suggested that single women pilgrims be excluded from the lottery system implemented to select Haj pilgrims. He also echoed the statements of PM for making India a clean and healthy nation.
