For instance, many Android phones are now affected by the Meltdown and Spectre bugs, but new Nokia 6 owners will likely have to wait to receive the full fix. In other words, the Nokia 6 (2018) won't be a huge upgrade from the existing Nokia 6, so users should not expect major changes.

This led some to bemoan the phone because it runs Google's Android 7.0 Nougat software - which launched back in 2016 - rather than the recently released Android 8.0 Oreo.

The original Nokia 6 had a front-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button. Only this time round, HMD is using bold colour accents to accentuate the phone's chamfers on both the front as well as on the back.

According to the TENAA listing, the Nokia 6 (2018) will feature a 5.5-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, the same as last year's model. Nokia 6 (2018) ditches the hardware capacitive button on the front and sticks with a metal unibody build. Additionally, the smartphone is said to borrow the Nokia 8's "Bothie" feature which simultaneously shoot photos from the front and rear cameras. The second-generation Nokia 6 will also be available with a choice of 32 or 64 GB internal storage, for respectively CNY 1,499 or CNY 1,699.

The new Nokia 6 ships with the same cameras as last year's Nokia 6 which means that it carries a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and dualLED flash. On the hardware side, it seems that there will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, which is the successor of the Snapdragon 625 and 626 chips and includes an Adreno 508 GPU. The memory will be expandable with a micro SD up to 128 GB.

Both phones have a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 screen, a 3,000mAh battery, a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing one, 32GB or 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot and now run Android Nougat. And the 2018 version also has come up with two features unique to this segment- Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C.
