The closing store list includes 64 Kmart locations and 39 Sears locations, according to a Business Insider report.

Closeout sales will begin next week with all locations shuttered by May.

That will leave Sears with less than 940 operating locations.

Liquidation sales will begin as early as January 12 at the dozens of stores across the country. Six years ago, the company had 3,510 stores.

Sears Holdings is the parent company of both Sears and Kmart retail stores.

Kmart stores remain open in Allentown, Doylestown, Shillington, Wilson, Walnutport and Wind Gap.

A Sears Holdings spokesman did not detail how many employees would be impacted.

The struggling chain said they aim to transform their business model so the physical store footprint and our digital capabilities "match the needs and preferences of our members".

In addition to the Kmart in Cumru Township, the company once operated stores in Exeter and Muhlenberg townships, with the Muhlenberg Kmart being among dozens that closed in 2016.
