Premier League champions Chelsea were held to a goalless draw away to second-tier Norwich City in a boring FA Cup third round tie on Saturday.

Success in the Champions League will undoubtedly be the hardest to achieve but Guardiola is determined that his side will challenge and with a favourable draw against Swiss side FC Basel, it's not inconceivable that they can make progress deep into the competition. I have a lot of respect for what he (Dyche) does and the way he plays is completely different to how we want to play.

Guardiola has rotated his squad for the League Cup, using a blend of youngsters and fringe players, and they have been taken to penalties in the last two rounds.

Next is Bristol City in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has admitted to feeling "aggrieved" after he saw his side relinquish a one goal lead to lose 4-1 against Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday. Now he's going back to Spain and he'll be back when he feels good, we are happy because everything is going well.

The Blues can be backed at 4/5 (1.80) to take a first leg advantage to the Emirates, while it's 14/5 (3.80) that they go all the way and lift the trophy that they last won in 2015. They showed they are able to break teams, so we are aware of it. But despite all these facts, our aim is to beat them.

Guardiola has spent the last few weeks moaning about the fixture schedule and number of games his stars have been forced to play.

"If we have less games then a player, two or three players, will sit on the bench unsatisfied with their situation".

He added: "I think the more games we have, the more opportunities there are to change players". Going into the game against the Clarets, a place at Wembley was a minimum of five matches away - ignoring the nightmare scenario of replays.

"All the guys who don't play regularly, they were fantastic", he said. "It's a positive thing being in more competitions".

"My priority is the next one - tomorrow", Guardiola said before the game and he was true to his word with Nicolas Otamendi, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho all starting, while Claudio Bravo and Oleksandr Zinchenko were given rare starts too.

City will be without injured trio Vincent Kompany, Benjamin Mendy and Phil Foden for the game.
