UCF fans put up billboard in Tuscaloosa asking for series with Alabama

Following the Tide's victory, UCF fans paid for a billboard on McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa congratulating Alabama and challenging them to a home-and-home series with the Knights. By having a flawless season and beating the only team that defeated both Alabama and Georgia this season, the UCF Knights are clearly champions. Auburn, coincidentally, is the only team that beat the Tide in their title-winning season.

The electronic billboard spot features an image from the Knights' Peach Bowl win over Auburn and text that reads "Congratulations Alabama!"

Barakett said the original idea was to put a billboard in Atlanta, where the national championship game was held Monday. "How about a home & home series with UCF?" A big part of the reason UCF was ranked No. 12 in the final College Football Playoff rankings (UCF moved up to No. 6 in the final AP rankings) was its schedule. And don't underestimate Nick Saban's ability to drum up the "disrespect" angle as well.

The Knights even had a parade at Disney World to celebrate their national championship.

Alabama was voted No. 1 in the final Associated Press college football rankings after beating Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship Monday night. And UCF is the series victor. The Crimson Tide received 57 of 61 first-place votes from the media panel. In the end, it's all in good fun, from one 2017 national champion to another.
